Learning Logs
The Learning Log (LL) is a collection of concept-based questions that students answer and turn in on test day. These questions approximately 10 per chapter) and associated figures can be downloaded from the website (below) before we cover a topic in class. As a result, students have the opportunity to write directly on the figure when we discuss it in class. To get the most out of the LL and to better reinforce the information, I suggest that students either complete the LL the day before we cover the material or the same day that we cover the material. That way, students get to contact the information twice within a short time period. Additionally, students should review the contents of their LL as they go along. The LL is worth 5 points on a test and I will give partial credit relative to the amount of work completed. (The LL must be hand-written and not typed unless there is an extreme extenuating circumstance for the student and this must be approved by me prior to turning in the LL.)
